The Associate Director of Industry and Government Research Partnerships is responsible for building partnerships (industry and government) between the Heritage College and external entities with interests that align with the Heritage College research portfolio.
This individual will work strategically to prioritize and execute defined goals and tactics and promote faculty research programs.
The successful candidate will be a seasoned professional with strong interpersonal skills and a robust understanding of basic, translational and clinical research.
Travel will be required.
Primary
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement an aggressive outreach strategy to cultivate and foster new and support/expand upon existing industry and state/federal partnerships in an effort to expand the Heritage College research enterprise and increase sponsored activity.
Will be responsible for developing new approaches to grow research partnerships and expand the Heritage College research portfolio, and by extension, contribute to realizing and maintaining the recently established R1 status of Ohio University through performing the following:
Setting specific goals/objectives to develop formal partnership agreements, MOU's, etc.
Serve as a liaison between the partner and the appropriate OHIO offices, and other activities to advance research Collaborate with both Public Affairs and Advancement to 1) Identify elected officials, philanthropic entities, and/or non-profit organizations with agendas that align with Heritage College/ OHIO research initiatives as well as any existing OHIO employees connected to these organizations; and 2) lead and support federal research appropriation and earmark requests from the college.
Build strong relationships with Heritage College Faculty to understand and stay apprised of research programs and discoveries Create faculty-specific strategies for facilitating external partnership interest.
Collaborate with University Communications and Marketing ( UCM ), and others to oversee the development and implementation of a marketing/communication plan that highlights research programs and projects Create and maintain an inventory of current Heritage College research activities, including size and scale of these activities Oversee Graduate Assistant(s) and/or student employee(s) creating marketing materials, expanding marketing activities, and developing, implementing and maintaining communication campaigns to inform and highlight a range of accomplishments e.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Must have the ability to travel independently More than 8 years experience Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Health or Natural Sciences or comparable field Master's degree Understand sponsored research, grant and contract mechanisms, intellectual property protection and licensing and provisions for handling classified information.
Department HCOM - Research and Grants Pay RateThe full salary range for this position is $68,299.
00-$117,127, with the targeted salary for this search being $68,299-$80,252.
Salary is commensurate with education and experience, while also considering internal equity.
