Technician

Career Connections is looking for a Technician for a growing retailer of automotive equipment in Athens, Ohio. Will be assisting customers with brakes, bearings, and various installations on their motor vehicles.
This is a temporary-to-direct, full-time job opportunity hiring ASAP. The client would hire on directly for the right candidate. The schedule would typically be Monday through Friday, 8:
30 a.m. until 5 p.m., but longer hours could be necessary to complete jobs. Pay commensurate with experience and value added to the department.
This technician would not have to be classically trained in automotive mechanics, but would need to know brakes, bearings, wiring, and be capable of installing hitches. This is a very physical job and does require the technician to be able to crawl under trailers and trucks in addition to using lifts and machinery safely. Must be able type on a keyboard and be trainable on their computer system. Must be able to interact with customers to discuss their needs, so good communication skills and a clean-cut presentation is necessary. Experience hauling is always a plus so the dynamics of what they are working on is more deeply understood. A service manager, who can also turn wrenches, would also be an acceptable candidate.
