Operations and Quality Manager
Career Connections is looking for an Operations and Quality Manager for a growing local manufacturer in Athens, Ohio. The manager will coordinate and manage the production schedule to maintain a finished goods inventory in order to meet shipping deadlines; develop and maintain the quality manual, create procedures, and train employees; oversee the warranty repair process; and communicate with production, sales, and management teams.
This is a temporary-to-direct, full-time opportunity that can be direct-hire for the right person. The schedule will generally be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The pay is commensurate with experience but in the range of $30-40K/year. Upon permanent hire, this company offers comprehensive benefits.
Required skills:
- Bachelor's degree or currently enrolled in university program.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, email, web browsers, and computers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized with ability to follow processes and also document new processes.
- Ability to accept larger projects and build a plan to accomplish necessary tasks.
- Must be organized self-starter who maintains a task list, sets dates for completion, raises issues to management when help is needed, and holds self accountable for meeting deadlines and commitments.
Desired skills:
- Familiarity with operations management: manufacturing, kanban systems, inventory management, MRP, master scheduling.
- Familiarity with quality principles: Kaizen, process management, measurement and reporting of quality metrics, continuous improvement activities, supplier quality management.
- Ability to identify relevant metrics necessary to streamline business, determine reports for measurement, and implement changes for improvement.
- This is an individual contributor role but candidates with skills and interest in personnel management are desired.
