Prevention Specialist

Career Connections is looking for a Prevention Specialist in Athens, Ohio to provide direct prevention and/or intervention services to individuals and consult with school personnel to implement student assistance programs. Will be establishing and providing leadership for drug-free student groups, overseeing or presenting programs in school facilities, aiding volunteers and mentors, completing required reports, and other activities as assigned.
This is a full-time, temporary-to-direct job opportunity hiring ASAP. Anticipated hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., though the position requires some evening and weekend hours. The pay rate is $10.50/hour and upon permanent hire, this company offers comprehensive benefits.
To qualify for this position, candidates must be a mature individual who can interact well with adults and adolescents. Must have an associate degree or high school diploma with equivalent experience in this field. Bachelor's degree in education, health and human services, or related field preferred. Strong public speaking, interpersonal communication, organizational, and computer skills required. Must have a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance with a good driving record. Extensive knowledge in chemical dependency field preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
