Senior Quality Engineer

Job Description
The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for driving exceptional part quality through his/her expertise in supplier selection, supplier development, and part qualification. This role assists product development, operations, and suppliers in providing parts that consistently meet quality, delivery, and cost requirements.

This position is also responsible for resolving customer quality related issues and acting as a liaison with Engineering, Operations, and sales /marketing personnel to resolve quality problems. This will involve ensuring any customer complaints or customer requests are clearly communicated to the organization.
Essential Functions
Conduct supplier assessments and quality system audits and approval/disprove suppliers
Responsible for the part qualification process (PPAP, IQ/OQ/PQ, and FAI)
Assure supplier compliance to relevant quality and regulatory standards
Provide feedback to design teams regarding suppliers, capabilities, tolerance, specifications, measurement and test methodologies
Ensure vendor processes are in compliance with SPC (Statistical Process Control) and SQC (Statistical Quality Control)
Work directly with suppliers to achieve goals including some travel on short notice
Assure Corrective and Preventive Action plans are developed and executed at assigned suppliers in compliance with the SCAR process
Act as first contact for customer quality related issues to ensure that customer complaints are understood and addressed in a timely and effective manner
Manage quality metrics including customer complaints, customer scorecards, and customer audits
Document Customer Complaints (CC) and work to identify the root cause and implement corrective action to prevent reoccurrence based on the data provided by all internal functions/organizations and through support of direct customer interactions
Must be able to travel up to 40% of the time

Organizational Relationships/Scope
Directly interfaces with suppliers on technical and quality issues
Support design and validation in overseeing compliance with the quality system and appropriate standards.
Works with R&D and cross-functional teams to define and introduce new quality processes.
Works as a team member, when required, in the development of engineering designs and tests.
Supplies operations with specifications regarding purchased parts and OEM products/processes.
Works directly with suppliers in all aspects of product/process development, release, and sustaining activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

years experience in supplier quality management
5
years experience in engineering
Skills/Competencies
New Product Development Processes
Ability to work with a supplier on requirements, process improvements, and capability studies
Ability to effectively influence and negotiate at all levels of an organization and lead change initiatives
Background in six-sigma, LEAN, Dfx, and related quality management tools
Familiar with ISO 9001
Ability to resolve complex problems requiring detailed analysis, calculation, or experimentation
Effective verbal and written communication
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
